Service Learning at Rawinala

CB Active Service Bina Bangsa School Kebun Jeruk
Panti Dwituna Rawinala (12 December 2012)
Jalan Inerbang 38 Kramatjati

Bina Bangsa School Kebun Jeruk went to Rawinala. We share about life, we laugh together, we sing together, and we also play together. What a wonderful experience for us.
We learnt many things from our friends at Rawinala. we realized that we have to be thankful with our life that God given to us. Event though they can not see or they can not hear, but they can feel and know that God never ever leave them.
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
(Matthew 25:40)

  1. This trip to Rawinala taught me a lot of things. I learned that all of us have to love and respect each other no matter how different we are. Seeing the disabled children make me feel sad and I really pity them. Even though they are disabled, they are still very happy and they enjoy everything they are doing. It makes me realize that I should be thankful and grateful that I am born healthy, and that I should love and respect other people.

  2. I think this trip was very fun, and I enjoyed the music performances by both students and residents alike. I learned that despite them having disabilities, they were still very talented and were capable of almost the same things we can do. I learned to be grateful of what I have, and what I can do.

They enhanced on their listening skills and managed to impress me with their music. After the trip, I learnt that I am very lucky to be born healthy.

  13. I realized through this that I am extremely blessed. Very blessed. It didnt hit me that there are so many people in this world that are lacking and have so many disabilities. When I arrived, I realized how lucky I am to live my life the way I am living in now. I heard so many great stories from their too. Now, after this service, I see things in a new perspective. Instead of whining and complaining, I start to say thank you more and appreciate everything around me more.
